Welcome to this summer’s Technology, Math and Literacy Program. This student-friendly and engaging program is designed for 21st century learners who want to improve their literacy and numeracy skills through a blended learning environment. Utilizing technology in the classroom proves to be a motivating venue that focuses on the key literacy and numeracy concepts in an enjoyable and interactive way.
Teachers will use available technological resources (e.g. Internet, computers, SMART Boards, iPads, Web 2.0 tools, etc.) to devise engaging and purposeful technology-based learning activities designed to enhance classroom instruction and support student achievement. Students will be working within a secure, password protected online learning environment called the provincial Learning Management System (LMS). They may respond to classroom assignments via the computer, participate in online classroom discussions and access selected online learning resources to explore and reinforce concepts.
This summer’s two-week program will be from Monday, July 10th to Friday, July 21st from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Our programs are located at various schools based on enrolment - the closest location is St. Thomas CES in Waterdown but you may choose the site that is most convenient to your family.
